SoCo Customs has long been the go-to for local dealerships if they wanted to build a pre-loaded lifted truck to sell on their lot. This is because of our professionalism, understanding of dealership business, and understanding of warranties. This 2025 GMC 2500 Denali is another example of that. This truck is for sale (while it lasts) on the Alpine Buick GMC South lot here in Colorado Springs so go make an offer if it is still on the lot! But if it is no longer available, here is what we did so you can make one of your very own.
Let’s start off by answering the question that many customers have called to ask us over the last few weeks; the suspension/underside of this 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 has remained unchanged from the 2024 model. If you are shopping for components and the respective websites have not been updated to reflect the 2025 year model for the GMC Heavy Duty Trucks, a 2024 kit will fit your truck.
We sent this one up on one of our favorite lift kits on the market; the Cognito 4” lift. This uses Fox Monotube Internal Floating Piston shocks to keep things under control. Cognito should be tip of the tongue when you are looking for the best riding kit for GM 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks.
To touch a little bit on the benefit of upgraded monotube shocks vs. twin tubes; monotubes are far better at fluid and heat management. Twin tubes are utilized by all of the OEMs because they are inexpensive to make (think cheap). The valving is not set up to dampen the energy that is within these suspension systems. A monotube is far better suited for the job as these aftermarket companies are given far more reign to valve the shocks for specific applications. As a result, when you hit an expansion joint at 65mph, the monotubes will have far less bob and bounce than their twin tube counterparts. The other benefit is that fluid does not touch gas in the system so during long sustained days off-road, you do not get as much shock fade as you do with your OEMs. The fluid doesn’t “turn to root beer” as I tell my clients.
The wheels we put on this truck are the 20x12 Gear Offroad 765 Ridge in Black and Milled. These are a -44 offset and get some very aggressive stance. This is one of the first dealer builds that we put the 12 wides on. Usually they opt for a 10” wide wheel.
We wrapped those in 35x12.50R20 Kenda Klever RT tires. These are one of our favorite tires when it comes to the rugged terrain tire market and the price point is incredible. They are great in snow and great off-road; all without beating you up on-road. This kit would fit a 37” tire very well on a 9” or 10” wide wheel with a less aggressive offset, but with a 12 wide, you will have to get very comfortable with cutting your truck. Since this was a dealer truck, we had to size down.
Because of the wide and aggressive stance, we added fender flares. These Rough Country Pocket style riveted fender flares bolt right up to the truck, and re-use the existing side marker lights. This is an awesome feature as many competing flares will just cover up the side marker lights. We sent these flares over to paint to get matched to the truck color which is called “Downpour Metallic.”
That is the first of many 2025 GMC 2500hd builds. Please reach out if you have any questions on these new trucks and we would be glad to help. Please fill out the form below for your very own GMC Heavy Duty Build from SoCo Customs.
