Build Summary 

The family hauler just got a little bit more fun. This one came to us as a stock 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe and the customer thought it looked and felt a little too much like a minivan. The customer came to SoCo to get a bit of a refresh on the looks and that is just what we did.

The lift kit is the [up to] 4” lift kit from Belltech. As we were dialing in the lift kit, we could only seem to find kits that lifted via spacers up front. We, along with the customer, decided that just a spacer kit would not meet the ride comfort and performance demands of this customer. Belltech is a brand we have used a ton for lowering kits. They are a great company that is owned by the same company as KW Springs. KW is a huge name in the performance car industry for the likes of BMW and Porsche so they know performance! 

This kit came with front and rear coilovers for the ultimate in customizability of ride height, pre-load, camber and caster. It also came with upper control arms which often times is the key to opening up better ride quality on longer travel builds. Finally, it came with new sway bars to minimize body roll, and really hunker into higher speed corners. These swaybars can also be adjusted to softer or stiffer settings depending on the terrain. 

This customer chose the Black Rhino Wanaka in an 18x9 size. He wanted the off-road looks and protection that is provided by more rubber. The color is a gunmetal grey and the offset is +12. This gets your wheels and tires out to a stance that is flush with the fenders. 

We wrapped those wheels in the 285/65R18 size Falken Wildpeak AT4W. These are top of my list for a great all around tire. I call it the 365 day tire. They learned so much with the AT3W generation. Like its predecessor, the AT4W has a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake rating. But one of the big steps they made in this direction, like their competitors, was to make this a much better towing tire. They made tons of changes to ensure the sidewalls remained stiff under load. They also changed the compound a little bit to ensure that they could improve their warranty miles.
