These Raptor builds are always controversial when we use any wheel larger than a 17”. This truck started off as a 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor with the 37” tire package from the factory. It has the Ecoboost motor as well. If you aren’t familiar with the 37” package; Ford offers it for the Raptor and it basically just drops the bump stops an inch to keep that larger tire from hammering into the fender liners during more “spirited” offroading.
We wanted a little less of a raked stance so we employed the help of RPG Offroad for their leveling kit. This kit comes with a few spacers in the anodized orange color. It also includes a really beefed up tie rod. The anodized control arms were on a backorder when we ordered, so we opted for the Icon Delta Joint Billet upper control arms.
Now for the controversial part. We went for the Ferrada FTR11 wheels in obsidian black. These are a 20x10 in a -18 offset. Ferrada is a force to be reckoned with in the high end car game, and they took some inspiration from their deep concave line of car wheels to come up with this absolutely epic design. This looks like something that would be at home on a BMW, as well as this Ford Raptor. Take a close look and you will see that the rear spoke appears to twist behind the other spoke. We wrapped these wheels in the 37x13.50R20 BFGoodrich KM3 mud tire. Even though there is no tire wear warranty on these, I have seen customers get a solid 50,000 miles out of this tire. BFGoodrich has definitely developed this tire compound for reliability. When customers come in and request mud tires, these are always top two on their list.
We had to get this truck to sound great too. We installed the Borla Exhaust kit and we are thrilled with the sound results! There is a soundbite in the attached video and you can give it a listen. This is the Atak Midpipe that cleans up the weird OEM equal length midpipe rats nest under this truck, and the exhaust leaves the truck via these carbon exhaust tips.
All-in-all this is another epic build and the 37s with the 20s still allow for a ton of rubber to protect these wheels. The RPG Offroad parts are absolutely burly and will hold up to most of the beatings this truck will take offroad.
